Meg’s Winter Exercise Tip



While the idea of using a gym in the winter – climate control, convenient, predictable – may be your vision of enjoyable exercise, never underestimate the benefits of the outdoors – you benefit from its natural incline and most importantly you get to enjoy the glorious, crisp air during the winter months.

I find that outdoor exercise tends to be more strenuous than an indoor version, for example, running down hill will stress your muscles differently than running on flat or uphill terrain, which is difficult to replicate on a treadmill.

I love winter walks, runs, bike rides along the beautiful British countryside most of all as it gives me a feeling of vitality, enthusiasm and appreciation of such scenic views a gym membership could never fulfil! Wrap up warm with a good pair of gloves, invest in a snuggly hat and give it a try for yourself. You will feel amazing for it!
